Yorkshire Coast Cricket- Folkton & Flixton Stay Top After Latest Victory

The villagers won again but the weather hit Scarborough and Driffield's games.

Boro's visitors to North Marine Road, Harrogate, amassed 250/5 from their 50 overs, with Gregor Fraser taking 3/39.

In response, Scarborough got to 135/4, led by Jack Redshaw's 70, but were then thwarted by rain and the players never got back on.

Also in Yorkshire Premier North, Driffield were left frustrated after declaring on an impressive 262/2 from 42 overs.

Alec Drury made 124 not out and Noah Kelly 105.

Drury then took two wickets but the weather meant the match was abandoned with Stamford Bridge 61/2.

There was better luck with the weather for Folkton & Flixton, who stay top of YPN Championship East after another victory.

Opponents Driffield Seconds may have regretted batting first after being dismissed for 164 in the penultimate over.

Charlie Colley took 4/35 and Ed Hopper 3/23 with Owen Goldsworthy making 66 from 61 balls.

In reply, the villagers reached their target with more than 8 overs to spare and with just three wickets down.

Hopper top-scored with 46.

Bridlington drop to fifth after an 88-run defeat to Londesborough Park.

The hosts made 237/8 batting first, with Steve Janney taking 4/70 and Casey Rudd 2/32.

In reply, Brid were skittled for just 149, skipper Russell Robinson top-scored with 55 not out.

In YPN Division One East, Pickering bounced back from last week's rare loss with a commanding eight-wicket victory.

Visitors Hull Zingari Seconds were bowled out for 118 in the 40th over with Max Harland taking 4/24 and Kieran Boyes 3/36.

Pickering lost just two wickets as victory was secured in the 30th over. Andrew Sharman was 53 not out with Archie Welford unbeaten on 43 alongside him, at the end.

Kieran Geyle took 6/66 but Yapham still scored 243/8 against Filey.

Geyle then smashed an unbeaten 105, with skipper David Brannan making 67 not out as Filey got home with just four wickets down and rise to third in the table.

Whitby remain at the foot of North Yorkshire South Durham Division One.

They were bowled out for just 100 in the 38th over, by visitors Bedale, at the Turnbull Ground.

Dale then eased to victory, perhaps motivated by making the England Euro 2024 game, by seven wickets, in just the 13th over.
