Choosing to field first, skipper John Major's decision was soon justified as the visitors slipped from 21/0 to 27/3. It was openers Ben Traves (2/13) and Thomas Hudson (1/39) who made the early roads, with Casey Wragg adding 2/17, but Russell Robinson soon came to the party with a devastating spell of 5/33 from his 11 overs, as Hull wilted in another collapse from 88/3 to 98/8. They were eventually skittled for 104.
Brid's reply was far from plain sailing as they navigated the choppy waters of 23/4. Enter Robinson with the bat and an impressive 54-ball 61 not out to steer Brid to dry land, accompanied by Steve Janney (17 not out). The hosts reached their target from exactly 21 overs. Bridlington ended their campaign in second spot.
Elsewhere, Folkton and Flixton eased to a 178 run win at Sheriff Hutton Bridge's reserve side, in the York Premier Division. However, the win looked a long way away when the visitors were put in to bat and quickly reduced to 11/2. However, Will Norman and Will Hutchinson added 60 for the third wicket, followed by the big stand of the match as Hutchinson (71) and Jake Hatton (84) combined to add 120 for the fourth. Max Harland's useful 32 then helped the away side to a very competitive 267/6 from their 50 overs.
Sheriff Hutton's response was solid enough, at first, as 23 was added by the openers, but they were soon 27/2 and 50/3. It became much worse for the hosts as 72/3 became 89 all out. Elliot Hatton was the undoubted star with the ball, taking 7/32. Though, Charlie Colley will have been delighted to mop up the tail with three wickets for two runs in just ten balls at the end. The villagers secured third spot, missing out narrowly on a promotion spot.
