Three students have tested positive for COVID 19
Scalby School has moved to online learning for all year 11 students and is asking them to self-isolate after three students tested positive for COVID-19.

Unfortunately, we have received news that three of our Year 11 students have tested positive for Covid-19. Many of you already know that one of these students tested positive on Friday and we identified a group of Year 11 students who had close contact with this student and we asked them to self-isolate for 14 days.
In line with the guidance we received from Public Health England we are now asking all of our Year 11 students to self-isolate. This is because we have had more than one positive test in Year 11 and it is harder to confidently identify those students who had close contact with the students who have tested positive.
The Year 11 students who tested positive have been self-isolating from Thursday last week, as they had come into close contact with someone who had tested positive during a leisure activity. This individual is not connected with Scalby School in any capacity.
A Year 9 student who attended the same leisure event has also tested positive. As this is an individual case, we have been able to track the students who had close contact with the student who tested positive. Once again, following Public Health England guidance we have only asked the students who had close contact with the infected student to self-isolate. We will review this decision if further positive test results are revealed in Year 9 students.
There have been no positive tests reported in our Year 7 and Year 8 students.
We will now offer online learning for our Year 11 students as a priority and the details of how to access our online learning will appear later today. We hope to be able to offer online learning to students in Years 7, 8 and 9 who are self-isolating at some point this week.
