Gary Liddle's men went ahead before the break when substitute Aaron Haswell fired home an angled drive after being picked out by goalkeeper Shane Bland's long clearance.
A header then brought hosts Leek Town level early in the second half. However, seven minutes from time, midfielder Michael Woods, on debut, after joining from Scarborough Athletic, drilled home from Layton Watts' pass for 2-1.
That's how it stayed as the Blues move out of the NPL Premier drop zone ahead of Tuesday's home game with Hebburn.
