Villagers Stay On The Heels of Rivals as Yorkshire Coast Cricket Nears Conclusion

Folkton & Flixton remain on the heels of Beverley in the race for promotion to Yorkshire Premier North.

They're bidding to join Scarborough and Driffield next year.

Boro saw their winning run ended on Saturday with a 56-run defeat to York, at North Marine Road.

The visitors chose to bat first and had 235 on the board before their third wicket fell.

York eventually posted 263/7 from their 50 overs, with three wickets each for messers Fraser and Hammond.

Scarborough were always behind as they replied, despite 47 for Jack Redshaw, a number of other batsmen got starts.

Boro were finally dismissed for 207, 56 runs short, in the 47th over.

It was even worse for Driffield Town, who also lost at home, in the same division.

Visitors Clifton Alliance won the toss and piled on the runs early, putting on 108 for the first wicket.

They eventually posted 283/9 from 50 overs, there were three wickets each for George Drury, Methushan Thilina and Sam Drury.

Driffield then collapsed from 66/2 to 96/6 as only Alec Drury's 68 troubled the scorers.

They were finally bowled out for 135 in the 40th over, losing by 148 runs.

Folkton & Flixton are back to winning ways, after victory at Dunnington, in YPN Championship East.

The home side chose to bat first and posted 231/9 from their 50 overs.

Ed Hopper took 5/58 and Harry Edwards 3/55.

Skipper Will Hutchinson then led his side to victory with an unbeaten 89, there were also half centuries for Rich Malthouse (52) and Elliot Hatton (53 not out) in a superb eight-wicket win, achieved inside 43 overs.

Unfortunately, Bridlington were unable to secure a win over Folkton's rivals and league leaders Beverley Town.

Jamie Boynton top-scored with 32 as Brid were bowled out for just 142, in the 47th over, after winning the toss.

Town then won by six wickets inside the 31st over at Dukes Park, despite Casey Rudd taking 4/46.

 Pickering continue their dominance of YPN Division One East.

They posted a formidable 324/8 from 50 overs, helped by Max Harland's destructive 63-ball 100, at Mill Lane.

Joe Harland made 83.

Pickering then routed visitors Yaxham for 103 in the 27th over to secure a 221-run victory.

In the same division, Filey lost by four wickets, at Pocklington.

Skipper David Brannan made 76 from 57 balls, as Filey were bowled out for 191 in the 47th over.

The away side then knocked off their target, with six wickets down, in the 46th over.

Brannan took 2/49 and there were also wickets for Josh Dawson, Muhammad Hussnain Khalid, Tom Watson and Jordan Powell.

Whitby remain in dire straits in North Yorkshire South Durham Division One after defeat by Great Ayton at the Turnbull Ground.

The visitors were put in and made 278/6, then declared, after 47.1 overs.

There were two wickets each for Tom Steyert and Rhys Buck.

Whitby were then bowled out for 234, in the 45th over, skipper Kai Morris made 48 and Steyert 47.
