North Yorkshire Police have released footage of some of the worst driving captured in North Yorkshire
Following the launch of the forces major new road safety campaign, 'Fatal 5', North Yorkshire Plice have released video of some appalling driving caught on dashcam.
The ‘Fatal 5’ campaign focuses on the five most common causes of fatalities in a bid to cut casualties on the county’s roads. They are:
- Careless driving
- Drink and drug driving
- Not wearing a seatbelt
- Excessive speed
- Distracted driving, including mobile phone use
As part of the safety campaign an initiative to educate and prosecute drivers using footage supplied by the public has been relaunched as Operation Snap.
Every piece of footage sent to Op Snap will be reviewed by a police officer and if an offence is identified, the driver can be prosecuted or told to take a driver improvement course.
