Two in Custody After Collision in Beeford

Two men have been arrested after reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the A165 near to Beeford yesterday evening.

Humberside Police say they were called at around 10pm last night (Wednesday 27 March) to reports that a car collided with a lamp post before allegedly driving off. It is believed that two men later returned to the scene.

Nobody is believed to have been injured as a result of the collision.

Officers then spotted a vehicle on Church Lane and two men nearby who officers suspected may have been involved in the collision.

A 29-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

The 29-year-old man was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled class B drug.

Officers say:

"Both remain in our custody whilst our enquiries continue.

Anyone with information that may assist with our enquiries can contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 541 of 27 March.

You can also report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
