They're Coming Home - Scarborough Football Legends Return to the Town

Some of the legends of Scarborough football will be back in the town today for the Scarborough Athletic Legends match.

The game is part of a community sports day at Scarborough Sports Village.

SAFC Chairman Trevor Bull says they want to encourage people to turn up and engage with the club both today and over the coming season.

Speaking on Paddy at Breakfast, chairman Trevor Bull says the event today is a great opportunity to tell people about the clubs paint the town red campaign.

The Community Sports Event, has been organised by CU Scarborough in conjunction with Scarborough Athletic and Everyone Active and will take place at Scarborough Sports Village.

During half time in the Legends game a special mini-match will be played – CU Scarborough vs Scarborough Athletic but with some recognisable extra Scarborough faces included.

There will be opportunity for sports-interested visitors to be put through their paces by former Premier League sports nutritionist and CU Scarborough Course Leader Shane Thurlow, with some help from the sport department of Scarborough 6th Form College.

Alongside this there will be foot golf, boot camps, coaching sessions and various stalls and attractions.

CU Scarborough will be providing information on the new sports management courses they are running in September.

The events start from 11am with the Scarborough Athletic Legends Match getting underway at 2pm. A School and College seven a side competition is taking place from 9am.
