A blaze in Seamer on Friday evening caused considerable damage to the building's roof.
Firefighters were called to a fire to an outbuilding, on Malton Road, in the village, around 7.15pm on Friday night.
It caused substantial damage to the roof of the building.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say the blaze was caused by overheated electrical equipment.
Officers used a hose reel jet, triple extension ladder, lighting and a thermal imaging camera to secure the property.
