Sci-Fi Scarborough Announces Six TV and Film Guests for 2025 Event

Sci-Fi Scarborough (SFS) is returning for its eleventh year, inviting fans to "geek beside the seaside" at the Scarborough Spa on the weekend of April 26th and 27th.

The unconventional convention will feature a variety of activities and attractions, with a focus on "everything you love about the world of Sci-Fi and Fantasy". The event is run by fans for fans and is not for profit.

Six TV and film guests for SFS 2025 have been announced. This year's confirmed guests include:

  • Katy Manning, known for her role as Jo Grant in Doctor Who
  • John Levene, who played Sergeant Benton in Doctor Who
  • Carole Ann Ford, who played Susan Foreman in Doctor Who
  • Caroline Munro, who played Naomi in For Your Eyes Only and is known for her work in Hammer Horror films
  • Brian Wheeler, known for playing a Jawa and Ewok in Return of the Jedi
  • Clem So, who has appeared in Star Wars, Doctor Who, Guardians of the Galaxy, and James Bond films Spectre and No Time To Die

The event will utilise 10 different areas, encompassing "all aspects of fandom". Organisers say there will be something for everyone including guest stars, gaming, props, publishers, cosplayers, comic books, artists, authors, and traders. Additionally, the event will feature a Geek Pub Quiz and a cosplay competition.

SFS 2025 will feature a large Star Wars room with props and sets for photo opportunities, plus Minecraft and Fortnite exhibits from Krashlabs in the Ocean Room. There will be professional costuming groups, a tabletop gaming room from Scarborough Games Society, Dalek Earth Force, Droid Builders UK, and the Bodypaint Project team, featuring artist Nick Wolfe.

According to the organizers, the event will have fresh guests and updated content in seven areas. Attendees can also expect to find comic book artists and writers, live music, prop displays, traders, authors, cosplay competitions, guest panels, science, steampunk, software developers, fan films, a retro gaming zone, miniatures, and modern console gaming.

The event takes place on Saturday, April 26th from 11am to 5pm, and Sunday, April 27th from 11am to 4pm. Sci-Fi Scarborough will be held in "the quirky quarter mile" of the Scarborough Spa.
