Scarborough Ladies Lifeboat Guild Raise £2,000 at RNLI 200th Anniversary Dinner Dance

The Scarborough Ladies Lifeboat Guild held a Dinner Dance to celebrate and raise funds in honour of the RNLI's 200th anniversary.

RNLI Ladies Lifeboat Guild Chair, Mrs Gladys Fox opened the evening with a warm welcome to all and a short itinerary of the evening's events, and then handed over to Scarborough RNLI Chair, Colin Woodhead who spoke of the importance of the RNLI, its volunteers and the work put into such events such as this one.

The event included a live local band called ‘Easy Steet’ where guests danced the evening away.

As well as the dinner and dance the guild also held a raffle and auction

‘We would like to thank firstly, 'The North Cliff Golf Club' and its staff for the delicious meal, to Mark for his enthusiasm as auctioneer, all our guests who gave so generously and made the evening a really pleasurable one and last but by no means least to the Ladies Lifeboat Guild Committee especially Mrs Judith Hargreaves Event Secretary and Mrs Gladys Fox Chairman for their extra efforts put into this very enjoyable event.'
