Scarborough beat Hereford 1-0 in the spring sunshine at Scarborough Sports Village in front of almost 1500 fans.
Boro boss Jono Greening described it as a gutsy performance, but thought Scarborough could have put the game out of reach of Hereford:
"I thought we played better football the other night, but we showed some real good character today. It was a gutsy performance without really good possession play. The killer for today's game was we couldn't get that 2nd goal. If we had, we could have put the game to bed".
Hereford had an early chance, but their shot on target didn't trouble Boro keeper Ryan Whitley.
Scarborough had the better of the early possession and created some good opportunities, Alex Wiles going close.
In the 28th minute, Boro scored what would be the game's only goal when an Alex Purver corner was headed in at the far post by Captain Will Thornton. Here's the moment the goal went in:
The 2nd half saw Scarborough create a number of opportunities, Dom Tear was in on goal but the impressive Bulls keeper Theo Richardson saved with his feet.
Richie Bennett also saw a close-range shot saved by Richardson too.
A free kick from Harry Green was parried by the Hereford shot-stopper and Boro couldn't follow it up.
Late on, Bennett had a glorious chance to double Boro's lead but shot wide from close range.
Scarborough keeper Ryan Whitley was called into action late on, tipping over a shot from substitute D'Ath.
Scarborough held out for the 3 points and a 2nd win in 4 days.
Boro have scored 5 and conceded none in their last two games and sit in 15th spot on 49 points in National League North.
The Seadogs Man of the Match was Alex Brown, who excelled throughout.
Scarborough next face Redcar Athletic away on Tuesday in the North Riding Senior Cup Semi Final.
Here's Jono Greening's thoughts, speaking to Paddy and Scarborough Athletic FC TV after the match:
Attendance: 1432 (90 from Hereford)
