Scarborough Event for Special Educational Needs Groups

Groups that provide support for children with Special Educational Needs in Scarborough are coming together for a "Seaside SEN" event this evening.

It's been organised by Speech and Language Therapy Provider "Seaside Salt" who have just become a not for profit company.

MD Kate Hemingway hopes tonight's event will be a great network event for local parents, teachers and SEN providers.

Seaside SaLT are an independent speech and language therapy practise based in Scarborough covering the Yorkshire coast and Ryedale.

They've just become a not for profit company in an effort to expand their services.

Kate Hemingway, says there is an increasing demand for speech and language therapy.

Kate says that becoming a not for profit company should help them to expand their services.

Seaside SaLT are hosting their first “Seaside SEN: Connect and Communicate” event on Thursday 25th April 6-8pm at Burniston and Cloughton Village Hall and are inviting parents, school staff and early years settings to join them to hear about the work going on in the area to support families and children with additional needs.

Kate says there are a range of local SEN organisations attending the event.

Kate says the event will provide an important opportunity for parents and teachers to talk about how they feel local provision should progress.

Anyone that wishes to attend the event should send message the team on Facebook or email them at quires@seasideslt.co.uk
