Scarborough Cricket's Woes Continue

Scarborough CC continued their winless run after defeat at Clifton on Saturday.

Batting first, Boro were bowled out in the 44th over for just 118. Hosts Clifton Alliance then strolled to their target, with more than half of their 50 overs remaining, for a seven-wicket win. Scarborough are still searching for their first league victory of the season.

Bridlington lost a thriller at Goole in the YPN Championship East.

Batting first, only Casey Rudd (85) and Ricky Robinson (23) made double figures as Brid were bowled out for 163 in the 45th over.

Goole had a similar issue with just four players making double figures. Robinson took 3 for 30 and Russ Robinson 3/35, but Goole staggered to their target, with the last pair getting home in the 48th over.

In the same division, Folkton & Flixton had a seven-wicket win.

The villagers had to field first and after a strong opening pair, found the home batting line-up to their liking. Callum Hatton impressed with 3/39, with Elliot Hatton notching 3/28. The Hatton family then took over with the bat as the away side recovered from 40/4- Elliot Hatton made 42 and Jake Hatton stuck around for an unbeaten 57 with Connor Stephenson smashing 30 not out from 21 balls. Folkton & Flixton made their target with more than four overs remaining, winning by three wickets.

Whitby were also victorious, in North Yorkshire South Durham Division One, in a low-scoring home clash.

After winning the toss, at the Turnbull Ground, Whitby skipper Paul Buck put visitors Wolviston and they were soon struggling.

Only three players made double figures as Aussie seamer Joel Lloyd took 5/29, Tom Steyert grabbed 2/12, Kobie Boocock 2/21 and spinner Mark Jackson claimed two wickets in nine balls without conceding. The away side folded for just 73 in the 24th over.

Whitby made hard work of their target, though Lloyd top-scored with 17 as they got home to win by five wickets in the 20th over.
