Scarborough CC Lose Thriller- Folkton & Flixton Stay Neck and Neck

Scarborough's cricketers lost a thriller at Hull, while Folkton & Flixton and their nearest rivals matched each other's results.

Scarborough lost by just three runs, at Hull Zingari, in Yorkshire Premier North.

Zingari were asked to bat first and posted 216/4 in a match reduced to 42 overs a side.

There were two wickets each for Gihan Maligaspe Koralage and Jack Redshaw.

Skipper Redshaw then held Boro's reply together with a fine century.

It looked like Boro were in with a good chance, needing 29 from 32 balls, before Redshaw was caught for 104 from 106 balls.

The visitors came painfully close but JJ Denton was run out on the last ball to seal a three-run defeat.

Driffield Town were also beaten, in the same division, by six wickets, at York.

After choosing to bat first, Sam Drury impressed with a battling 78 before being last out, caught in the deep, as Driffield posted 189 from 46.1 overs.

York raced to their target, despite wickets for George Drury, Alex Drury, Joe Stabler and Jack Oakley, they got home with ten overs and three balls to spare.

Both Folkton & Flixton and nearest rivals Beverley Town enjoyed seven wicket wins as they battle it out for the YPN Championship East title.

Folkton asked visitors Welton to bat first and they made a solid 258/6 from their 50 overs.

There were two wickets each for Connor Stephenson and Callum Hatton.

In reply, Elliot Hatton (109 not out) and Ed Hopper (88) put on 175 for the third wicket as the hosts sailed home by seven wickets, with nearly eight overs left.

In the same division, Bridlington thumped Driffield Seconds by 132 runs.

Will Norman made 107 not out and John Major an unbeaten 53 as Brid posted an imposing 310/4 from 50 overs.

Driffield were then skittled for 178 as Ricky Robinson took 3/40 and there were two wickets each for Casey Rudd and Steve Janney.

Pickering continued their domination of YPN Division One east, as they thumped fellow highflyers Pocklington by nine wickets.

Kieran Boyes took 4/38 and Tim Whincup 2/18 as Pock were restricted to just 138/9 from their 50 overs. 

In response, Pickering strolled to victory inside 17 overs with wicket-keeper captain Ryan Taylor not out on 75 from 57 balls.

Whitby continue to struggle in North Yorkshire South Durham Division One, they lost by five wickets to Wolviston.

Matty Towey top-scored with 35 as Whitby chose to bat first, but were bowled out for 108 in 28 overs.

Whitby had Wolviston 33/3 at one stage, but the hosts recovered and reached their target with 17 overs remaining.

The wickets were shared between Tom Steyert, Ricky Hall, Mathew Steyert and Charlie Taylor.
