That's the message from the leader of Scarborough Borough Council after the news this week that the council will be abolished in 2023.
The leader of Scarborough Borough Council says it's business as usual for the authority following the announcement this week that it will be replaced by a unitary council in 2023.
Steve Siddons says the work currently being undertaken on long term projects will continue and eventually be handed on to the new organisation.
The borough council will be abolished in April 2023 as part of the reorganisation of local government in North Yorkshire.
In the biggest set of changes since 1974 the county, district and borough councils will be replaced with a single unitary authority for the county.
Steve Siddons says the replacement unitary authority will eventually take over the projects which continue at full pace in the meantime.
