It's part of a drive to ensure rural businesses such as farms are able to get gigabit connections.
East Riding Councillor - Charlie Dewhirst - says there are still significant gaps in internet connectivity.
East Riding Council is involved in a project to see how gigabit broadband could be delivered to remote rural locations.
The council says a contractor is expected to be appointed shortly to deliver a regional programme of rural broadband upgrades.

At 82% Broadband coverage, the East Riding is above the UK Gigabit Coverage average of 77%, but to achieve the government’s target of 85% by 2025, the Council is working with Building Digital UK (BDUK) on Project Gigabit to deliver gigabit-capable connectivity to eligible premises. The majority of premises in the East Riding are in the Government’s Lot 23 procurement activity, which is currently taking place, with a build start date anticipated in the Summer of 2024. The scheme has an outline investment of an estimated £119m, and would cover 75,000 premises.
