A number of streets are affected by the closures.
North Yorkshire Police say:
"We're currently dealing with an incident in Norwood Street in Scarborough.
Some roads in the area are closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.
We recommend drivers avoid the area if possible, as the road may remain closed for some time."
