Police Appeal After Whitby "Altercation"

Whitby Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an altercation in the town.

It happened on Church Street at around 11:30am on Saturday 17 June 2023 and involved three men – two aged in their 40s and one aged in his 20s.  

One of the men sustained minor injuries during the incident but did not require medical treatment.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it to get in touch saying:

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should email nathaniel.stott2@northyorkshire.police.uk.

You can also call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Nathaniel Stott.

If you wish to remain anonymous, you can pass information to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Please quote the North Yorkshire Police reference number 12230110992."

Two men were arrested in connection with the incident and have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
