Plans Underway to Build on Scarborough's First Fringe Festival

The town's first ever fringe festival came to a close yesterday.

The Director of Scarborough Fair says they are already working on future events after the town's first ever fringe festival came to an end yesterday.

Julian Caddy says there are more events lined up for this year and planning on next year's events is already underway.

Scarborough's first ever fringe festival ran for ten days and saw performances, exhibitions, and events taking place in arts venues, pubs, the indoor market and even the central tramway.

The event came to a close yesterday and festival director - Julian Caddy - says they will now take stock of the event and build on the experience for next year's event.

The Fringe Festival's sister festival, Scarborough Arts, runs through the summer with events taking place until August 4th.

Other elements of the Scarborough Fair programme will run later in the year with Scarborough Extreme promising "A showcase of sports and music, celebrating activities which push you to your limits." in October and Scarborough Lights returning later in the year.
