The power distribution company says it is well positioned to restore power to all remaining customers by tonight following the weekend's storm.
Storm Darragh brought strong winds across the region throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Northern Powergrid says it's teams made great progress over the weekend, with over 120,000 power cuts having been restored since the storm hit and are out today focused on fixing damage and reconnecting the remaining 1,154 customers without power
The comapny says:
"We have support teams out in our communities again today, going door to door to provide hot meals and welfare support, and continue to keep in contact with customers in the areas most affected to make sure they know the locations of our Customer Support Vehicles and what other support is available in their local area.
For customers who have been without power for more than 24-hours, we offered a £150 contribution to overnight accommodation and further financial support where appropriate."
Steve McDonald, Northern Powergrid’s Director of Field Operations, said:
“Thanks to our team’s dedication to work into the night after a really difficult couple of days, we were able get more customers back on sooner than the estimated.”
“Today we are focused on getting our remaining customers back on supply by tonight and ensuring they are kept fully up to date and offered welfare support until their power is back on.
“We really appreciate our customers’ ongoing patience - and the thanks we have received for the work our teams are doing. We will not stop until our final remaining customers affected by Storm Darragh are all safely reconnected.”
In an update at 1pm on Monday Northern Powergrid said:
