North Yorkshire Police says investment in it's force control room has vastly improved it's call answer times.
Extra funds were provided at the start of the year to boost recruitment and staffing in the control room.
Assistant Chief Constable Scott Bissett says it's made a big difference.
In January the force was placed last in a national league table for 999 call performance.
The latest data shows it's now ranked 24th out of 45 forces.
Assistant chief Constable Scott Bissett says there is more to do, but thinks it's a great improvement.
