There have been a total of 559 excess deaths in North Yorkshire during the coronavirus pandemic and the county is still above the national average for new Covid cases.
Excess deaths are a measure of how many more people are dying than would be expected when compared to previous years.
Dr Victoria Turner is a public health consultant for North Yorkshire.
She says while there were periods when there were less deaths than recorded at that time in previous years- those dying at home during the pandemic was always higher than usual:
North Yorkshire remains considerably above the national average for new Coronavirus cases.
However- as of Friday- all seven districts in the county had reduced numbers from the previous 24 hours.
