There are hopes that flexible commissioning in dental practices could lead to an improvement in access to dental care.
That's according to Debbie Pattinson, who's the Dental Commissioning Lead for Yorkshire and Humber, and she says that they are one of the first to use the flexible model.
The programme is introduced to improve overall access at practices meaning that you may not see a dentist but could see a hygienist instead.
The local practices have also been given extra funding to help with the backlog from the Covid Pandemic.
Debbie Pattinson says that the additional funding will go towards waiting list initiatives and improving access.
The funding is continuing through to next spring.
