Whitby Hospital is finding some success with staff recruitment.
It comes as both the NHS and the social care sectors continue to find recruiting staff challenging.
Whitby Hospital's Service Manager - Sonia Rafferty - thinks the newly refurbished building is helping make the hospital an attractive place for medical staff.
Sonia Rafferty says the redevelopment of Whitby Hospital is having benefits for the staff as well as the patients.
Sonia says while keeping the hospital running during the two years of building works and the pandemic was tough, the staff now have a much better working environment.
The large-scale renovation works at Whitby Hospital, costing £13.1 million, saw the tower block part of the building completely stripped out and reconstructed.
Services were decanted into the low rise part of the hospital during the redevelopment, which was itself renovated in order to receive patients over the course of the works to the tower block.
The works were aimed at delivering a modern, fit for purpose health facility in the centre of Whitby town which houses dental and podiatry services, inpatient facilities, including those for mental health, an audiology suite and a café on the ground floor.
