Some of the world's premier song writers have been taking part in a song writing retreat on the Yorkshire Coast this week and tonight they will be performing the songs they've written at special concert in Robin Hood's bay.
The songwriting week in Whitby has been staged by the Buddy Holly Foundation which helps new song writers get started.
It's the first time in two years that the foundation has been able to put on the event.
Graham Gouldman who wrote for 10cc, The Yardbirds and the Hollies has been taking part along with the likes of Judy Tzuke and Beth Neilsen Chapman who has written for Faith Hill, Willie Nelson and Bette Midler among others.
Singer/Songwriter Newton Faulkner has been at the retreat all week, he says the songs they will be performing tonight a very accessible.
The new material from the songwriters will be performed for the first time at a special concert at The Cove in Robin Hood's Bay tonight.
The Buddy Holly foundation puts on the retreats to help new writers get in to the industry by teaming them up with existing song writers.
Newton says it's been a productive week.
The songs are being performed at the Cove in Robin Hoods Bay tonight from 7:30
