New Bridlington Town Manager Makes Changes as Chief Exec Appointed

Newly appointed Bridlington Town manager, Denny Ingram, has announced Michael Coulson as his assistant and the club have appointed a Chief Exec.

The club announced yesterday that former assistant manager Denny Ingram would be taking over the manager's role from Adrian Costello.

In a statement on the club website the new manager has now announced two changes to the management structure at the club.

Denny Ingram said:

"Firstly I’d like to thank Adie for giving me the opportunity to be involved with the club and the vision of the owners.

Results at the start of the season haven’t been up to scratch and everyone associated needs to take responsibility. Moving forward I can confirm that Michael Coulson will be stepping up to player assistant manager and Pete Davidson taking up a player coach role. Both have vast experience and knowledge at both our current level and higher.

Having worked with both of them over many years I believe we have between us the passion and determination to push the club forward. That said it won’t happen overnight but I can guarantee between us we will be working tirelessly to change things around”

The club say:

"Denny has a wealth of experience both on the pitch and coaching, holding positions as player assistant manager at the old and new Scarborough clubs as well as player assistant at Pickering then manager.

Denny continues the excellent connections we have with Scarborough, working as head of football for Scarborough Football Scholarship in partnership with Bridlington Town Scholarship, where Bridlington will see its first intake of students this season."

In a further off field change Gavin Branton has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive. Gavin was the Club Secretary and has been involved at Bridlington Town for over 20 years.

The club say that this newly created role is a "statement of intent by the new owners to move the club forward professionally and ensure Bridlington Town AFC have the infrastructure in place to match the ambition of moving the club forward on and off the pitch."

Gavin said :

“I am Bridlington born and am proud and honoured to be given this vital new role in the structure of the club.

With Smurth having sold the club all the tasks he previously did are now needing to be addressed. This new role covers all those plus my present Secretary role and other areas which need someone to manage and move the club forward.

My role will be to support Denny in any way possible in order to give him the best possible chance of achieving the clubs targets and ambition on the pitch.

Off the pitch my task will be to ensure the smooth running of the club operationally day to day. Ensuring commercial and budgetary compliance decisions are made.

This frees up more time for the owners to meet our strategic aspirations and goals – meeting our KPIs. The task is to ensure effective and efficient communication and support for our owners on all matters at the club – both on and off the field.

A wider remit is to engage with the local community and the many organisations and agencies in the Town in order to cement existing relationships and grow new ones. We are a community club and the owners recognise this and want to build on our existing partnerships.

I have retired from a 15 year career in Offender Education Management to take up this vital role. I bring with me valuable managerial experience and transferable skills which complement the role.

Most importantly- I have a through working knowledge of Bridlington Town AFC and how it operates and what our supporters expect from those who represent the club in a professional capacity

The key will be to ensure our unrivalled group of volunteers and staff are supported and empowered to enable us all to move the club forward in order to meet the ambition of the owners.

We have an amazing group of people at the club – fans, volunteers and staff. We are the Bridlington Town family. I am very much looking forward to my continued relationship with all of the above and the hard work necessary to meet our shared goals.

A football club is nothing without its fans.
