NHS Bosses say a programme to train more nurses in Scarborough is having an effect on recruitment, but more are needed.
More local nurses are being recruited on the Yorkshire Coast as a result of the nursing programme at CU Scarborough.
That's the message from the Chief Exec of the Yorks and Scarborough NHS trust.
Simon Morritt says they have offered jobs to a number of this year's graduates.
Last year 17 graduates from the CU Scarborough course went on to work at the York and Scarborough NHS Trust with a further 21 finding work elsewhere in the NHS.
this year 25 of the graduate nurses from CU Scarborough's Nursing Programme have been offered jobs by the York and Scarborough NHS trust.
Chief Exec, Simon Morritt, says the programme is now providing a steady stream of new local nurses but says recruitment remains a challenge on the Yorkshire Coast
