The Scarborough Borough continues to have the highest infection rate in the county and the Police say they will continue to enforce the lockdown rules.
The latest data suggests the COVID situation is the Scarborough Borough is getting better but remains serious.
While the seven day infection rate has fallen from it's peak of 604 to 296 cases for every 100,000 people, it still remains the highest in North Yorkshire and is still well above the English average of 207
59 people are currently being treated for COVID 19 at Scarborough hospital, that's down three from last week.
However, North Yorkshire Police say they are still having to issue COVID fines to people in the borough for breaching the lock down restrictions.
Out of 73 fines issued across the county in the last week, 52 of those were in the Scarborough Borough.
Superintendent Mike Walker says they will continue to issue fines to the minority of people who flout the lockdown rules which remain in place until December 2nd.
Superintendent Walker says following the rules remains important to reduce infection rates further and the force will continue to have a strong presence in the Borough.
