A yellow weather warning is in place in North Yorkshire for most of Sunday due to strong winds.
The Met Office have announced the following warning:
West to west-southwesterly winds will continue to gust above 50 mph until this evening, with a few exposed areas seeing gusts of 55-65 mph.
Some marked crosswinds are likely on some roads, for instance the A1M. Some disruption to travel, as well as infrastructure is likely. Winds will ease from the north this evening.
What to expect
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
- Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible, including damage from tree debris
