
Humberside Police Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man has been arrested following a reported kidnap in Hornsea this morning.
Humberside Police received a call from a member of the public at approximately 9am who reported that a man had entered a property on Ashcourt Drive.
Whilst inside the address, an altercation is believed to have taken place, resulting in a 32-year-old man sustaining injuries to his face and body.
The man is then believed to have threatened the 32-year-old and forced him out of his house to walk to a shop on Cliff Road.
Officers were swiftly deployed, and a 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of kidnap and robbery.
The 32-year-old man was taken to hospital to receive treatment to injuries which are thought to be serious at this time.
Detective Inspector Mark Hawley said:
“I understand an incident of this nature will be concerning for the local community; however, I would like to offer my reassurance that a man remains in our custody whilst investigations continue.
“From our enquiries carried out so far, we believe this incident to be between people known to each other.
“Local residents can expect to see an increased presence around the area to allow officers to conduct multiple lines of enquiry. If anyone has any concerns, please come and speak to them.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident, or may have video footage or witnessed anything, to please contact us on 101, quoting log 106 of 20 March.”
