The Government’s latest rolling figures, updated on Friday, show the number of infections recorded across the region was 1,755 in the East Riding in the seven days up to Tuesday, February 15th.
A total of 47,685 new coronavirus cases were recorded nationally on Friday, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 18,546,205, with 158 new deaths recorded, making a total of 160,379.
The figures come as the NHS Confederation, which represents senior health service figures, have called for free coronavirus tests to remain after supplies of lateral flow tests to universities were stopped, signalling a Government move away from not charging for them.
The Confederation also said 75 per cent of senior NHS staff in England did not want self-isolation rules to end ahead of a statement on restrictions which Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to make on Monday.
