Heartbreak For Boro's Cricketers But Promotion Hopefuls Remain On Course

Scarborough remain precariously placed in Yorkshire Premier North after a narrow defeat on Saturday.

Visitors Sheriff Hutton Bridge were bowled out for 169 in the penultimate over, at North Marine Road.

Boro then came agonisingly close to reaching their target, only to lose out by one run, finishing on 168/9 from their 50 overs.

In the same division, Driffield also lost a close one, at home to league leaders Castleford.

Noah Kelly made 55 as the hosts were bowled out for 162 in the 43rd over.

Methushan Thilina starred with 2 for 24 from his 13 overs, but the visitors edged home by three wickets.

In YPN Championship East, Folkton & Flixton are bidding to be promoted into Scarborough's league, and smashed their way to 298 all out.

Hosts Sutton-on-Hull were then bowled out for 136 in the 38th over to seal an impressive 162-run victory for the league leaders.

Bridlington are still in with a shot of going up themselves.

Batting first, Brid amassed 235/8 with Will Norman making 53.

Hosts Dunnington were then bowled out in the final over for 213, finishing 22 runs short.

Rich Robinson took 4/23 and Steve Janney 3/37.

Pickering are looking to get into that division, they continue to lead YPN Division One East.

After reducing Scarborough Seconds to 149/8 in 50 overs at Mill Lane.

Pickering then got home by six wickets in the 36th over.

Filey also had a successful chase, getting to 252 in the 47th over at Beverley.

The hosts made 251/7 from their 50 overs, with Kieran Gayle taking 4/65.

Muhammad Hussnain Khalid starred with 73 from 69 balls, Aaron Howard steered his side home with 58 from 55 balls.

Unfortunately, Whitby's woes at the foot of North Yorkshire South Durham Division One continue, after defeat at the Turnbull Ground.

Jack Allanson took 3/33 as Billingham Synthonia were bowled out for 257 from the penultimate ball of their innings.
