Do you have hats and scarves you no longer need, or could you knit a new one?
Community organisations in Eastfield have come together to launch an appeal for hats and scarves as part of their efforts to create "Warm Packs" for the area's most vulnerable people this winter.
Fiona Colling, from Carers Plus Yorkshire, says it's a simple idea that can have a big impact.
The project has grown from Operation Cracker which was launched in December 2018 by the Filey and Eastfield Neighbourhood Policing Team as a combined initiative to help protect vulnerable people in Filey and Eastfield over the winter months.
Operation Cracker along with Carers plus Yorkshire and the Legacy community centre are now asking local people to either knit a new hat or Scarf or donate old ones that they no longer need.
Fiona Colling says they are asking everyone to check their drawers for good quality hats and scarves that they no longer need.
Fiona says the Warm Pack initiative is a collaborative project between the Filey and Eastfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, Carers Plus Yorkshire, Eastfield Community Association and This is the Coast.
Donations of Hats and Scarves can be dropped off at the Legacy Community Centre in Eastfield between 10am-12noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Alternatively Carers Plus can arrange to collect your donations.
