Hate-Related Incident Under Investigation in Whitby

North Yorkshire Police are investigating a reported hate-related public order incident that occurred on Church Street, Whitby, between 1pm and 3pm on Sunday, 22 September 2024. The incident involved a man using a microphone to shout racially and religiously motivated abuse.

Authorities are appealing for information and video footage from anyone present at the time.

Witnesses or those with mobile phone video or CCTV footage are urged to contact PC Scott Sunderland via email at scott.sunderland2@northyorkshire.police.uk.

Alternatively, they can call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Scott Sunderland, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Please quote reference 12240173210 when providing information.
