
Schools, Colleges and Youth Groups in the Scarborough area are being encouraged to help get more youngsters involved in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
Scarborough Rotary club are inviting schools, colleges and other youth organisations to attend a special information event next week.
Rotary president - Trevor Bull - says key figures from the awards scheme will be speaking at the free event.
Key figures from the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme will be at the event to encourage more local organisations to get involved with the scheme.
A substantial amount of funding has been lodged and ring fenced with the D of E Award organisation to help promote the scheme across all schools, colleges and other organisations in the area. The aim is to engage more and more young people to get involved in the scheme which is aimed at developing youngsters to become good citizens and become more resilient.
The Rotary Club have written to local organisations inviting them to send a representative to the event which is taking place at Scarborough Rugby Club at 6:30pm on Monday October 9th.
There is no charge for attending this event and buffet refreshments will be available to all attendees.
School, College and youth group leaders are being invited to the free event which is being organised by the rotary Club.

The Rotary Club sats theat the event will be great opportunity for local organisations to get a greater understanding of the scheme and, importantly, to find out more about the support that is now available.
