Preparations are continuing in the Scarborough Borough for the return of visitors when the lockdown restrictions are eased.
Among the measures being put in place are strategies to deal with an expected increase in litter, which is an ongoing problem in the resort especially over the summer months.
The Borough Council's operations Manager, Paul Thompson, says more resources will be deployed to tackle the issue.
Scarborough's beaches will be a focus for the Borough councils efforts around litter when the lockdown restrictions are eased.
Extra resource will be used to ensure the beaches and town centres are kept clean and the beaches will benefit from evening litter picks in an attempt to encourage people to stay longer in the resort.
Councillor Liz Colling says it's not just the council staff who will be keeping the resorts tidy, she's thanked the many volunteers who help keep the litter under control.
