
Flamborough RNLI have been thanked and accredited with saving two lives following a recent shout.
The incident which took place on the afternoon of February 19, involved the rescue of two people on paddle boards who were being pulled dangerously out to sea by strong currents in deteriorating weather conditions.
The service was reviewed by the RNLI Assessing Office team and it was agreed that two lives were saved, under the RNLI Life Saved guidance.
Flamborough RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, David Freeman said,
"Credit to the volunteer crew for their speedy response and professionalism".
Flamborough RNLI launched at 1:48pm on February 19th, tasked to locate and assist two people on paddle boards who were in difficulty off North Landing. The casualties were quickly located and taken on board. The casualties were then safely returned to the beach at North Landing and Flamborough RNLI was stood down. RNLI Lifeboat B820 and volunteer crew returned to station at South Landing at 2:17pm.
