It's a huge occasion this weekend in the town of Whitby with many activities taking place from Pier Road to Endeavour Wharf.
Saturday is the first day of the Whitby Fish and Ships Festival.

Enjoy filleting and cooking demos, net mending and pot sewing, crab and lobster dressing, and hands-on activities from Whitby Lobster Hatchery.

Get crafty! Take part in crafty workshops with Whitby Museum, Pannett Art Gallery, The Cook Museum and Whitby Library, enjoy tabletop games and test your eye for beach finds at the beach fossil hunting tray.
Dogwood Productions Dogwood Productions will be presenting two new shows –
“The Chip Shop Chronicles”. Kids big and small will be in their element with walkabout entertainment and face painting.
Animated Objects return to the festival this year with their new walkabout act, Galleons Ahoy!.
