First Draw of the Season For Whitby

Whitby Town and FC United of Manchester battled to their first draw of the season in a chance-strewn clash in the North West on Saturday.

Both sides came into the match with four wins and three defeats, but no draws.

United 100% at home and Whitby winning all of their away trips.

Some one of those records was destined to end on Saturday, as it was it was both.

The Red Rebels led with a screamer early on, but Brad Fewster levelled, six minutes before half-time, after a defensive error.

The Blues were the better side after being edged out for most of the first.

Jacob Gratton missed from point-blank range and Junior Mondal was somehow denied after rounding the United goalkeeper.

Town manager Nathan Haslam was impressed by his side's performance:

The Blues are next in action in a Tuesday night derby with bottom club Marske United at the Towbar Express Stadium before Saturday's FA Cup clash with Morpeth at the same venue.
