A family which was left devastated after losing three members in a collision on the A64 in August have returned to their home to find it has been burgled with irreplaceable sentimental items among those stolen.
A 44 year old woman, a nine year old girl and a five year old boy, were all sadly pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on August 24th.
All three were passengers in a motor home.
A six year old boy and his father who were also in the motor home survived the collision and spent some time in hospital.
The good news is that the 6 year old boy who was seriously injured has been allowed home with his dad.
Unbelievably though when the young lad and his dad returned home they found their house had been burgled and the thieves had taken everything, including items such as an a TV, Xbox and sentimental things that can never be replaced.
Now a group of North Yorkshire Police officers along with other 999 colleagues have started a GoFundMe page to raise funds to help replace some of the families possessions.
One of those involved in the fundraiser is Paul Cording, he said:
"We are horrified with what has taken place and can’t just sit by & do nothing. We have started a collection to replace some of the items & if you would like to help this family try to rebuild their lives then please do donate if you can."
