Entries Open for McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k

Entries opened this morning for the 2023 McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k.

Entries have opened today for the McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k.

The event will take place on October 15th, the places are expected to sell out in a matter of days.

Race Director Danny Walls says they've managed to open up a few more places for this year's race.

The entry price for the 10K is £17 with a £2 discount for EA registered athletes. There is a Slate Medal at the end and a tree planted for the runner.

Alongside the main 10K race there will also be the usual fun runs and for the first time this year's event will also include a 5k race primarily aimed at younger runners aged 11-14 but allowing anyone to enter.

Race Director, Danny Walls says the new event will enable younger runners to compete against the clock.

The 5K will be a step up from the fun runs, it will be a chip timed run meaning competitors will be racing competitively. It will be an England Athletics approved event offering prizes for age groups 11/12 and 13/14.

The 5k will follow the same route as the 10k but with an earlier turn off. There are 250 places available for the 5K run which will take place around the South and North bays of Scarborough starting at the iconic Spa building and will route through the Open-Air Theatre to the Sea Life Center.

Entries for the 5k event and the fun runs are open now. The 5k race is free for 11-14 year olds, the entry fee for anyone aged 15 or over is £10.

The 1.5km and 2.6km Fun Runs are free for under 15's and £5 for anyone aged 15 or over. There are 500 places available for the Fun Runs and the entry form can be found at  https://www.theentrypoint.co.uk/events/mccain-fun-run-2023-dM3alenRzeXxEpR/enter
