The best of the emergency services will be showcased at Filey's emergency service day which begins this morning.
The event will showcase the very best of the emergency services including North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, HM Coastguard, Yorkshire Ambulance and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Representatives from the emergency services will be at Filey Sports Field from 10am until 4pm with demonstrations and displays of equipment and vehicles.
Allan Skilbeck, who is a North Yorkshire Police volunteer, hopes that the event will have a long lasting effect on younger people.
Inspector Andy Short, of Filey and Eastfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:
This year’s event is shaping up to be really exciting with live displays, demonstrations, and there is a chance for children and their families to get up close and personal with vehicles and equipment.
“There will be so much for people to do and, most importantly, it won’t break the bank as entry is free.
“We’re hoping to exceed last year’s record 4,000 visitors. The interest that has already being shown by exhibitors and the public reaction has been overwhelming.
“People of all ages will also experience ‘all the fun of the fayre’, with the expansion of the event to include roundabouts, a buzz bomb and miniature train rides. Not to mention lots to eat and drink.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone.”
Allan Skilbeck says that there is a wide range of emergency services on show.
