Labours prospective parliamentary Candidate for Scarborough and Whitby has called on the council to do what it can to get swimming lessons back up and running in the town following the closure of the Alpamare Waterpark.

The parks developer went in to administration last month and the facility remains closed.
It's understood North Yorkshire council was owed several million pounds by the developer and may now gain control of the site.
The council's executive member for Finance - Councillor Gareth Dadd - told a meeting that the situation is complicated and delicate.
