
North Yorkshire Police say they have made changes to the way their call handlers work after criticism from Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary
A report from HMIC said that some calls to the 999 service were being inappropriately downgraded, leading to longer response times.
Assistant Chief Constable Lindsey Butterfield says the force has made a number of changes to it's procedures and is keeping a close watch on response times.
