The new outdoor fitness facilities planned for Cayton will help provide new resources for the village as it continues to expand.
That's the view of Cayton parish council who received planning permission last week for the scheme on West Garth which will include a power walking and jogging, a 250 metre long cycle track, exercise areas, outdoor gym, children’s sports equipment, log adventure causeways, a small amphitheatre to host events, picnic tables, toilets and a small café.
Ward Councillor Simon Green says the facilities are much needed.
Up to 2,500 new homes could be built in and around Cayton in the coming years under the borough council’s Local Plan and ward councillor Roberta Swiers told the committee that was why these facilities were needed.
Councillor Clive Pearson is a member of the Borough Council's Planning Committee he thinks the ambition of the plans will cause envy from other Parish Councils.
