Bridlington Sailing Coble Festival Begins Today

This weekend sees the return of Bridlington's Sailing Coble Festival with visitors being able to see 15 traditional sailing vessels and take part in attractions throughout the weekend.

An entertainment schedule has been put in place for the two day event with a mix of traditional sea shanties and folk music set to ring out around the harbour.

Paul Arro is the publicity officer for the Bridlington sailing coble preservation society and he says that they are constantly looking to make the event even bigger.

The event get's underway at 9:30am and is free for members of the public.

Various stands and stalls will be in place within the Harbour Commissioners' Vessel Maintenance Facility adjacent to the Harbourside Clough Hole car park.

Paul Arro adds  that the support the event has received has allowed them to make it even bigger this year .
