Bridlington Town are looking to bounce back after two defeats to start the new football season.
Competitive football returns to Queensgate for the first time on Tuesday. Grimsby Borough will travel to the Hudgell Solicitor Stadium for the second league game of the season.
Brid lost their first two games of the season in the North East. Northern League First Division Bishop Auckland beat them 3-0 in the FA Cup while Dunston inflicted a 3-1 defeat on Saturday.
Managed by Daniel Barrett, Grimsby Borough will be pleased with their Northern Premier League East campaign last season, finishing 12th with 48 points having been promoted the campaign prior.
It wasn’t all plain sailing, however, as they really struggled to adapt to the higher level at first, losing their opening six league games. That run included a trip to Bridlington Town, with Dennison’s injury time winner seeing the game end 1-0.
Having picked up massively in the second half of the season, the reverse fixture on 2nd January was the complete opposite. That ended 5-2 to Grimsby Borough, with Dennison also netting both Bridlington Town goals that afternoon.
A familiar face will be amongst the Grimsby Borough side, with Luis Adlard expecting to return to Queensgate, having signed on loan for the Seasiders from Grimsby Town in the 2021/22 campaign.
