A property on Lansdowne Road, Bridlington has been served with a closure order by the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The closure is part of ongoing work to rid communities of anti-social behaviour and disorder and comes after a number of reports of anti-social behaviour, drug dealing, drug use and violent crime centred at the property.
Yesterday (Wednesday 2 June), a judge authorised the immediate closure of the property, meaning no-one is permitted to enter the property for the next three months. The tenant is also required to vacate as part of the close down.
Neighbourhood Beat Manager PC Zoe Messenger said:
“Closure orders are an extremely effective way of preventing communities from further harm caused by nuisance behaviour.
“This particular address had been a hotspot for drug use and crime, making those living around it feel unsafe in their homes. Behaviour like this is totally unacceptable and won’t be tolerated.
“I would continue to appeal for our communities to reach out to us and let us know about issues they are facing.
“All of the reports we receive are taken seriously, and the more information we get, the better picture we can build up to take enforcement action like in this scenario.
“You can report anti-social and criminal behaviour via our 101 number, by speaking with a local officer, or using 999 in an emergency. Crimestoppers is also a great tool for those who don’t wish to speak to the police, as it’s completely anonymous. They can be contacted on 0800 555 111.”
