Conservatives hold Bridlington and the Wolds
Charlie Dewhirst has been elected as the MP for the new constituency of Bridlington and the Wolds
The new constituency replaces the former East Yorkshire seat with a number of boundary changes.
The former East Yorkshire seat had been held by Conservative Sir Gregg Knight since 2001, he stood down at this election. Sir Greg won the 2019 election with a majority of 22,787 votes and 64.4% of the vote.
In this election that majority was reduced to 3,125 with the Conservatives taking 35% of the vote. Labour came second with Reform UK a close third.
Reform UK, the SDP and Independent Candidate Tom Cone didn't stand in the former East Yorkshire seat in the 2019 election.
Turnout was 59% down 5% from 2019.
